Cinco de Mayo!!
This year it falls on a Sunday. We intend to help our amigos make this our day to remember. Cinco de Mayo is the third jewel in the Brubaker Triple Crown. We were big winners on Fat Tuesday and St. Patrick’s Day. We are hoping for a clean sweep.

Brubaker’s Pubs will offer buckets of 5 Coronas for $15 and a complimentary taco bar from 3-7 p.m. For the entire Cinco Weekend, we are featuring a taco flatbread pizza and running a hot price on carafes of margaritas or watermelon margaritas!! Invite your friends for tequila, tequila and more tequila!

So our crews can be in the party spirit on Sunday, May 5th, the co-workers will be allowed to wear cute jeans, jeans skirts or jeans shorts as long as they wear a Mexican shirt and/or sombrero. Hay caramba! Mucho grande fiesta esta noche!

Kentucky Derby, May 4th
Tanja Baker, our lovely day Manager at Hudson Brubaker’s Pub, loves to throw parties. At the top of her list is her annual Kentucky Derby Run For The Roses Party!! Party starts at 5pm, post time 6:24pm. Prizes for Best Derby Hats and Brightest Derby Attire! She will make you a mint julep and have complimentary derby snacks. Come to Hudson for the “Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports!”

Benefit for Gia
Brubaker’s Pub in Stow will be sponsoring a benefit for little Gia Aitken who is the niece of longtime Brubaker friend Drew Starke. Day Manager Lauren Riegel has been busy organizing and planning Gia’s event which will be held tomorrow, Saturday, April 27th from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. Gia Aitken is an infant diagnosed with a rare disease that literally 1 in 1 million infants are effected with. Gia has been undergoing chemo at the Cleveland Clinic. We are teaming up to help take care of some of her financial burdens. We will have free appetizers and a 50/50 raffle.

Bar Crawl Downtown May 4th
Brubaker’s Pub Downtown is going to be part of the 8th annual get “Zip-ed Faced” Bar Crawl on Saturday, May 4th from 12-4. Our stop will be from 1-2 p.m. Awesome T-shirts will be available to purchase for $10

Bike Night at Brubaker’s In The Valley
Brubaker’s Pub in the Valley has linked up with the other bars in Liberty Commons to sponsor “Bike Night”. The first “Valley Bike Night” is scheduled for Thursday, May 23rd. “Buck Naked,” one of Akron’s most popular local bands will be performing in the center of the Commons. Vendors such as Tattoo Artist, Harley dealerships and jewelry booths are setting-up in the parking lot to add to the excitement.

Specials and promos abound! Coors Light Draft specials and more. All of the bars are running a punch card promo. Customers receive a card at their first stop. As they make the circuit around the Commons, the card is punched at every bar. When the card is complete, the customer wins a cool T-shirt. At Brubaker’s Pub, our favorite grill meister will be serving up sizzling hot burgers and chicken sandwiches from the grill along with our regular menu.

There are different events every Thursday all summer long. Whether or not our customers are riding motorcycles, bicycles, cars or just walking or jogging, invite them to get a jump on the weekend at the Valley Night. The Cuyahoga Valley National Park offers one of the most scenic routes Northeast Ohio.

A special thanks to Zar nightclub, Jimmy’s Martini Bar, Cilantro, Tramonte, House of LaRose, Superior, N-A Breweries and Perkin Elmer for your donations

Human Error
Our business is comprised of multiple sales rang at relatively small increments. Example: $2.75 for a Bud Light. Our success and your tips are based on accuracy. This involves serving one customer at a time. Frequently we think that it is faster to wait on two or more customers before ringing in product. Nothing could be further from the truth. The national chains actually require that their servers account for payment before the customer can even touch the product.

Even if our people do not believe that they are giving product away, the result of human error is the same as intentionally giving away product. Ethically our people may be innocent but, in fact, the result is the same. We pay for every bottle of liquor and beer, keg of draft and food item that we sell. We expect to be paid and we promise our servers they will have an opportunity to earn tips on these products. When servers “forget” to charge for product they are damaging everyone’s bottom line. Servers make less tips and the company makes less profit.

Last month we had problems at several stores. Coincidentally the stores that showed sales growth did a better job accounting for product. Now is the time for all of us to take s serious look at our work habits. No company can afford to absorb the cost of missing product for very long.
